This pioneering low-energy refurbishment project was carried out for our sister company works property.
It entailed the conversion of an office building in clerkenwell into a bakery at ground and basement level, with six apartments on the four upper floors.
It is one of the first refurbishments of its type to be as energy-efficient as an equivalent new building. This was achieved with high levels of insulation, solar panels, low water usage, and a low energy electrical installation.
The project construction cost was £600,000 and the works were completed in spring 2009.

This project was short-listed for the 2011 "don't move improve" competition run by "new london architecture" in association with "elle decoration" and "time out" - to find the capital's best designed, and most innovative home extentions.
Our work on this house involved the extension and total refurbishment of a detached house in suburban Harrow.
A new timber and glass extension was added, wrapping three sides of the building. It was completed in 2009 to a budget of approximately £400,000.00.
This is another project where our client was a fellow-architect.
