Description:
This large detached two storey in Butleigh with car port has been designed and built to a very high standard. Considering its size it fits neatly into its surroundings and has been built using locally sourced reclaimed materials to match the local landscape. Blue lias stone, horizontal hardwood boarding and oak framed structures reflect the local vernacular, and the sub division of windows reflects the rural style in this area. This property won the LABC “Best individual new home” category and was runner up in the South West regional awards in 2017.

Description:
Following the granting of Planning permission by others, Della Valle Architects were commissioned to produce detailed working drawings for thew new eco-dwelling. The construction methods incorporated modern building techniques (Iso quick flooring, ICF Logix walls and SIP's roof panels) to achieve 0.1 U-Values throughout the building, including 0.9 W/m2K triple glazing throughout. Rainwater harvesting and PV panels were also incorporated in the scheme. The dwelling finally achieved an exceptional air test rating of 0.59m3/m2hr@50Pa - exceeding the PASSIVHAUS standard.

Description:
The Proposals consisted of the re-development of 3 redundant agricultural buildings under Class Q permitted development rights to 3 high quality contemporary dwellings. The designs retained the agricultural forms with improved landscaping and amenity works, with architectural interventions to enable to conversion of the building to a dwellinghouse. The materials and design were chosen to complement the site, retaining the character of the existing setting and the wider local vernacular.
